Ascension Day is a poignant moment – a moment of triumphant return to the Father for Christ after his great journey here on earth – and yet for all that we rejoice, it leaves us alone, faced with the challenge that Christ has given us. We are charged to get on and do his work on earth. Though he never leaves us in spirit, he has left us in body. Our time is now, and the responsibility to live up to his challenge rests on our shoulders.
