Psalm 42:7<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/th.bing.com\/th\/id\/OIP.XQDXQXyLLrgB0NWf8h7CFwHaFj?w=237&amp;h=180&amp;c=7&amp;o=5&amp;pid=1.7\" alt=\"Image result for deep calls to deep\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>God of the past who has fathered and mothered us<\/p>\n<p><strong>WE ARE HERE TO THANK YOU<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>God of the future who is always ahead of us<\/p>\n<p><strong>WE ARE HERE TO TRUST YOU<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>God of the present here in the midst of us<\/p>\n<p><strong>WE ARE HERE TO PRAISE YOU<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>God of life beyond us within us<\/p>\n<p><strong>WE REJOICE IN YOUR GLORIOUS LOVE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Hymn 590 Seek ye First<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Meditation<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In order to hear My voice, you must release all your worries into My care.\u00a0 Entrust to Me everything that concerns you.\u00a0 This clears the way for you to seek My Face unhindered.\u00a0 Let Me free you from fear that is hiding deep inside you.\u00a0 Sit quietly in My Presence, allowing My Light to soak into you and drive out any darkness lodged within you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Luke 10:38-end<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>At the Home of Martha and Mary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><sup>38\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha\u00a0opened her home to him.\u00a0<strong><sup>39\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>She had a sister called Mary,\u00a0who sat at the Lord\u2019s feet\u00a0listening to what he said.\u00a0<strong><sup>40\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, \u201cLord, don\u2019t you care\u00a0that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><sup>41\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>\u201cMartha, Martha,\u201d\u00a0the Lord answered,\u00a0\u201cyou are worried\u00a0and upset about many things,\u00a0<strong><sup>42\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>but few things are needed\u2014or indeed only one.<sup>[<a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Luke+10&amp;version=NIV#fen-NIV-25406f\">f<\/a>]<\/sup>\u00a0Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Meditation<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Hymn 396, Just as I am, verse 1<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When the world tells us<\/p>\n<p>we are what we do<\/p>\n<p>with our activity, acumen or achievement<\/p>\n<p>let us learn<\/p>\n<p><strong>WE ARE WHAT WE DO WITH OUR SILENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Hymn 396, Just as I am, verse 3<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When the world tells us<\/p>\n<p>we are what we do<\/p>\n<p>with our spending power, selling power,<\/p>\n<p>or our power of speech<\/p>\n<p>let us learn<\/p>\n<p><strong>WE ARE WHAT WE DO WITH OUR SILENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Hymn 396, Just as I am, verse 4<\/em><\/p>\n<p>When the world tells us<\/p>\n<p>to drown the silent sufferings of others with<\/p>\n<p>indifference or noise<\/p>\n<p>or to forget the art of stillness even in the storm<\/p>\n<p>let us learn<\/p>\n<p><strong>WE ARE WHAT WE DO WITH OUR SILENCE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Hymn 396, Just as I am, verse 5<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Where the world tells us<\/p>\n<p>to rush in where angels fear to tread<\/p>\n<p>let us learn that angels listen first<\/p>\n<p>before they take a step<\/p>\n<p>for the voice of God in the silence<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Silence<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Hymn 396, Just as I am, verse 6<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Prayer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Lord\u2019s Prayer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Collect<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Almighty God,<br \/>\nyou have made us for yourself,<br \/>\nand our hearts are restless till they find their rest in you:<br \/>\npour your love into our hearts and draw us to yourself,<br \/>\nand so bring us at last to your heavenly city<br \/>\nwhere we shall see you face to face;<br \/>\nthrough Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,<br \/>\nwho is alive and reigns with you,<br \/>\nin the unity of the Holy Spirit,<br \/>\none God, now and for ever.<br \/>\n<strong>Amen.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Hymn 498 O God our help in ages past<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>My Christ,my shield,my encircler,<\/p>\n<p>each day, each night, each light, each dark,<\/p>\n<p>be near me, uphold me,my treasure,my triumph.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Go in peace to love and serve The Lord<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the name of Christ Amen.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prayer Service, Wednesday, 7 October 2020 Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me.
