{"id":236,"date":"2016-04-23T19:04:18","date_gmt":"2016-04-23T19:04:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/standrewsconiston.org.uk\/prayerandpraise\/?p=236"},"modified":"2016-04-23T19:04:18","modified_gmt":"2016-04-23T19:04:18","slug":"join-us-in-the-great-wave-of-prayer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/standrewsconiston.org.uk\/prayerandpraise\/join-us-in-the-great-wave-of-prayer\/","title":{"rendered":"Join us in The Great Wave of Prayer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #333399;\">Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, has called on all churches across the land to participate in a week of prayer, from 8 to 15 May.\u00a0 You are invited to join the following events taking place in Coniston.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>St. Andrew\u2019s Church, Wednesday, 11 May 2016<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><u>Open Prayer Space<\/u>, 11:00 to 12:00; 12:30 to 15:00<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><u>Time Out, Prayer &amp; Praise<\/u>, 12:00 to 12:30<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Why pray?\u00a0 Christians believe that \u2018prayer changes things\u2019, and we are all very aware of the need for peace and hope in our world which is trying to cope with so many issues of local, national and international concern.\u00a0 Even the scientific and\u00a0 medical communities have recognised that when people are prayed for, even if not believers themselves, their recovery record is consistently better than those who were not open to prayer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><em>The Prayer Space<\/em><\/span> is in the body of the warm church and is there for anyone to pop in at any time.\u00a0 You may wish to sit quietly and reflect in peace, write a prayer on a tag and attach it to the prayer tree, light a candle for someone you care for or just \u2018be\u2019.
